Monsoon Hits India: 2 Dead in Kerala and Karnataka, Heavy Waterlogging in Assam
The southwest monsoon is moving across India. As a result, many states are getting heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. This bad weather is causing problems in daily life. For example, there is waterlogging and power cuts. Sadly, two people died in Kerala and Karnataka due to rain-related accidents on Thursday. Meanwhile, Assam is also facing severe waterlogging from continuous rain.

Therefore, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts. Kerala districts like Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod are on alert for heavy rain.
Consequently, schools in these areas are closed. Furthermore, night travel is banned in hilly parts of Idukki from 7 PM to 6 AM. This is to avoid landslides.
