Bike Auto New Rules have been issued by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari following rising accidents on highways and expressways in Delhi and NCR. The illegal entry of two-wheelers (bikes) and three-wheelers (autos) into high-speed corridors has become a major safety concern, prompting the government to take urgent action.
In a recent high-level meeting, Gadkari expressed deep concern and instructed Delhi Police and relevant agencies to implement strict monitoring and impose heavy challans to enforce the new Bike Auto New Rules.

The increasing number of accidents caused by the entry of two-wheelers and three-wheelers on Delhi and NCR expressways led to the introduction of Bike Auto New Rules. Gadkari emphasized that enforcement must be strengthened where restrictions already exist, and new measures should be added where necessary.

Badarpur Elevated Highway
Ban on two- and three-wheelers effective since 16 February 2024.
Delhi–Meerut Expressway

Delhi–Gurugram and Dwarka Expressways
Ban implemented from January 2024 under Bike Auto New Rules.
These roads are meant for vehicles moving at 100+ km/h. The entry of autos and bikes here poses fatal risks, hence the need for these new guidelines.
