What is Vande Bharat Express?
Launched in February 2019, the Vande Bharat Express was introduced on the New Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi route. This semi-high-speed train can travel at speeds up to 160 kmph and offers a travel experience similar to the prestigious Shatabdi trains but with enhanced features and passenger comfort.
Designed completely in-house by Indian engineers and manufacturers, the train was developed in just 18 months using advanced computer modelling and collaboration with multiple suppliers. The focus has been to enhance the productivity and performance of railway assets and manpower while ensuring reliability, availability, utilization, and efficiency.
