The tragic and mysterious death of Pakistani model and television actress Humaira Asghar Ali has shocked the nation and raised disturbing questions about what really happened in her final days. Found dead and decomposed in her Karachi apartment in the upscale Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area, Humaira’s case has taken a chilling twist, with murder allegations, a viral last voice note, and gruesome forensic findings now surfacing.
Discovery of the Body
On July 8, 2025, Humaira Asghar’s highly decomposed body was discovered in her DHA apartment. The discovery stunned investigators and the public alike due to the advanced stage of decomposition, indicating she had been dead for 8 to 10 months, according to the initial post-mortem report.
The delay in discovery raises major questions: How could a popular public figure remain unnoticed for so long in a densely populated urban area? Why didn’t neighbors or family members intervene sooner?
Petition Suggests Murder
Adding fuel to the mystery, Shahzaib Sohail, a concerned citizen, filed a petition in Karachi’s City Court, claiming that Humaira was murdered. He urged the court to:
- Treat the case as a criminal investigation
- Include her family in the investigation process
- Examine video evidence from inside her apartment
ARY News reported that Shahzaib also pointed to Humaira’s strained ties with her family, suggesting that domestic issues may have played a role.
As a result of this petition, the court directed police to formally investigate the case under possible murder charges, taking it out of the domain of a mere unexplained death.
Viral Voice Note: Humaira’s Last Words
Amidst the investigation, a voice message sent by Humaira to a close friend has gone viral on social media, offering a rare emotional glimpse into her final days.
In the clip, Humaira can be heard requesting heartfelt prayers for her life and career:
“I’m so sorry, I was travelling, caught up here and there. I’m so happy tum Makkah me ho. Mere liye bohot saari please… apni cutie si dost/ behen ke liye bohot saari dil se dua karna. For my career, dua me zarur yaad rakhna.”
This heart-wrenching message, filled with hope and emotion, now sounds haunting in retrospect, especially as it came shortly before she disappeared from public view.
Financial Distress & Mental Health?
Veteran actor Muhammad Ahmed, speaking to PTI, suggested that Humaira was in dire financial trouble before her death. She reportedly struggled to pay rent and had been out of work for months, possibly due to health issues or being sidelined in the industry.
These claims add another layer of tragedy: Was Humaira battling financial ruin, loneliness, and mental health issues in silence?
Horrifying Forensic Findings
The post-mortem report offers some of the most gruesome insights into the condition in which Humaira was found. As per GeoTV:
- Her body was in an advanced state of decomposition
- Key organs were unidentifiable, reduced to a decayed mass
- Her face was completely unrecognisable
- Muscle tissue was entirely gone in some areas, and bones disintegrated upon touch
- Fingers and nails had reduced to bone
- Brown-coloured insects, especially in her hair, were present, though no maggots were found
These findings suggest that no preservation or care was provided after her death, hinting at possible negligence or intentional concealment.
Theories Under Investigation
Investigators are now working on several possible theories:
- Homicide: If Shahzaib’s claims and evidence hold up, this could become a high-profile murder case.
- Suicide due to depression/financial stress: If she was isolated and facing hardship, it’s possible.
- Neglect or accidental death followed by concealment: If she died suddenly and nobody reported it.
Each theory raises more questions than answers.

Why Wasn’t She Reported Missing?
One of the most puzzling aspects of the case is the lack of a missing person report or family outreach for nearly a year. If her relationship with family was strained, did anyone try to contact her? Did her colleagues or friends notice her absence?
This gap in reporting adds to the suspicion and raises questions about society’s role in ignoring the silent suffering of public figures.
