In a shocking case of domestic violence and dowry harassment, a woman was allegedly murdered by her in-laws and buried outside her house in Faridabad, Haryana. The deceased, Tannu Kumar, a native of Shikohabad, Firozabad district in Uttar Pradesh, was married to Arun Singh of Roshan Nagar, Faridabad, just two years ago. The incident came to light after nearly two months of deception, cover-ups, and neglect by local police officials.
Murder, Burial, and a Cover-Up: How It All Unfolded
According to police reports and media coverage, Tannu’s husband Arun Singh and father-in-law Bhoop Singh conspired to kill her in April. To hide the crime, they reportedly dug a 10-foot deep pit in the street outside their residence using an earthmover machine on April 23.
A mason was called the next day to fill the pit, erasing visible traces of the crime. Adding to the elaborate cover-up, the family soon filed a missing person’s complaint and went to the extent of falsely claiming that Tannu was mentally unstable to further discredit any suspicion that might arise.

Tannu’s father, Hakim, who lives in Shikohabad, grew suspicious during his visit to Faridabad after his daughter’s alleged disappearance. He noticed the freshly filled pit right outside the house, which immediately raised alarm bells in his mind.
