Washington Talks Signal New Chapter? Tharoor Leads with Poise – Top15News: Latest India & World News, Live Updates

India-Pakistan Delegations Face Off in Washington: Tharoor Confident in India’s Message

After Operation Sindoor, many people are watching South Asia closely. Now, India is focusing on talks and diplomacy. An Indian group, led by MP Shashi Tharoor, has come to the United States. At the same time, a Pakistani group is also in Washington. Therefore, this sets up a rare face-to-face meeting.

Operation Sindoor and India’s Diplomacy

After the operation, India moved from military action to talks. The Indian group has members from many political parties. Their goal is to share India’s strong message against terrorism. Also, they want to show India’s wish for peace and growth.

The group includes:

  • Shashi Tharoor (Leader)
  • Sarfaraz Ahmad
  • Ganti Harish Madhur
  • Shashank Mani Tripathi
  • Bhubaneswar Kalita
  • Tejasvi Surya
  • Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu

A Diplomatic Showdown in Washington

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s group led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also in Washington. Bilawal, chosen by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, will share Pakistan’s view on recent tensions with India.

Tharoor is sure India will get its message across. He said,
“In Washington, the Pakistani group will be here too. So, there will be more attention because two rival groups are in the same city.”

Reaching the Right Audience

Tharoor said India might not be in all the headlines in the U.S. However, India can reach people who care about terrorism, South Asia, and world peace. The Indian group will meet many important people, such as:

  • U.S. government officials
  • Senators and Congress members
  • Think tanks
  • Public forums like the National Press Club
  • Media groups, broadcasters, and podcasters

In addition, Tharoor will do six to eight interviews with American media to share India’s message.

Why the U.S. Matters to India

Tharoor said the U.S. is very important to India. This is true not only now but also in the long term. Their ties cover trade, defense, sharing intelligence, and working together in groups like QUAD and G20.

India’s Message: Peace, Not War

Tharoor made it clear that India never wanted war. The operation was to punish terrorists, not to start a fight. He said,
“We don’t need anyone to tell us to stop. We want development, not war.”

India says its response was careful and fair. On the other hand, Pakistan’s actions made the situation worse.

India’s Wider Diplomacy vs. Pakistan’s Narrow Focus

Tharoor said India is working around the world. India has visited many capitals. In contrast, Pakistan is focusing on only a few cities like Brussels, London, and Washington.
“We have been to many places. Pakistan’s effort is smaller,” he said.

With both groups in Washington, the next few days are very important. They will help shape how the world sees South Asia. India wants to show its democracy, peace efforts, and fight against terrorism.
