In an emotional and historic move, Mumbai City FC has confirmed the departure of winger Bipin Singh. His contract expires on May 31, 2025. To honour his contribution, Mumbai City will retire his iconic jersey number 29. This marks the end of a glorious era.

A Seven-Year Legacy Comes to an End

Bipin Singh, the talented winger from Manipur, joined Mumbai City in 2018. Prior to that, he played for Shillong Lajong and ATK. Over seven years, he became a key figure in Mumbai City’s rise. In fact, he played 158 matches and scored 28 goals—the most in the club’s history.

From Historic Goals to Double Titles

Bipin played a central role in Mumbai City’s historic 2020-21 season. The club won both the ISL Shield and ISL Cup, a first in history. Moreover, his stunning goal in the final against ATK Mohun Bagan is one of the most iconic moments in ISL history.

Furthermore, in the 2023-24 season, he scored another crucial goal in the final, helping Mumbai City win their second ISL Cup. He was also part of the squad that won the League Shield in 2022-23.

A Farewell with Heartfelt Gratitude

In his farewell message, Bipin said:

A Legacy Etched in Mumbai City History

Kandarp Chandra, CEO of Mumbai City, shared:
“Bipin’s journey with Mumbai City has been truly special. He’s made a meaningful impact on and off the pitch. Hence, retiring the No. 29 jersey is a small gesture to honour everything he has meant to us. He will always have a place in the Mumbai City family.”
